Frequently asked questions
Please arrive 5 or 10 minutes early to ensure that we can discuss goals for the session and so that you can relax before your massage.
Please provide at least 48 hours notice for any cancellations. I understand that life happens and things come up, but if a session has been prepaid and you can't make it, the amount will not be refunded but instead applied to a future session.
If you have not fully recovered, please reschedule. Massage can exacerbate certain symptoms such as fever, and rescheduling helps me and others potentially avoid getting sick as well.
Massage is generally indicated for most people but if you are experiencing any of the following, please do not book any massage session until approved by a medical professional.
~Fever
~Contagious Infections or Illnesses such as cellulitis, herpes, flu.
~High-Risk Pregnancy
~Severe Acute Injuries such as fractures, traumatic head injuries, ligament tears, etc.

It depends on your needs. Most people find that a mix of techniques works best for them, so I book appointments by time. This way, you don't have to worry about up-charges and add-ons at checkout. It's all included.
During your first visit, we'll discuss your new client assessment, your goals for treatment, and any special needs you may have. Then, we'll determine the best way to make progress for you.
Some clients undress completely and others prefer to leave some clothing on. Your comfort is a priority and essential to any massage. No matter what you choose, you will be covered with a sheet for your modesty and only the area that is being addressed will be uncovered.
Speak up immediately. Your comfort is my top priority and adjustments can always be made for pressure, technique, or positioning.
It’s up to you! During your session I will speak up and check in regarding pressure, your level of comfort, and having you adjust positioning. Some people like to chat while others prefer silence. As a therapist, I follow cues from my clients so that they have whatever experience they prefer. It is your bodywork, after all.
Some massage techniques may cause a little discomfort as tension or sore muscles are worked through, but it should never be painful. Pain may be an indicator of an injury or inflammation. Please let me know if you are experiencing any pain so that adjustments can be made.
That’s okay! It means you’re relaxed which is always one of my goals for any treatment. I take snoring as a compliment with any work!
Yes, but if you have specific skin sensitivities, please discuss it with me in advance. The products I use are unscented and hypoallergenic, but I am happy to make accommodations in most circumstances.
This depends on your needs, lifestyle, and budget. Some clients receive a massage once per month, others once per week, and many schedule a massage only when they feel that their body needs it. Bodywork is as much preventative as it is corrective and in general I tell my clients that they know their own body better than anyone else.
Yes, but if you are under 18, a parent or guardian will need to be present in the room during the massage.
It is important to stay hydrated with warm liquids, rest, and listen to your body.
Similar to working out, massage can leave some people sore, especially after deeper work. If soreness lasts more than two days, please let me know so we can adjust future treatments.
In the meantime, ways to manage soreness include:
~Apply heat to the area
~Topical pain relievers like Biofreeze, Tiger Balm, Arnica/Chamomile products
~Epsom salt baths
~Gentle stretching, Yoga, and I also offer assisted Meridian therapy stretching as a separate service that can help alleviate stiffness and pain.
Currently only cash, venmo/cashapp/zelle.
Tipping is never required, but if you are happy with your service, a tip is always welcome and appreciated.
